Missouri Church Uses #ATEOS as Outreach Event

Make12 Church is a new church plant in St. Joseph, Missouri, who hosted a screening of “At the End of Slavery” November 12th.  They flew out Justice Advocate and Former IJM Legal Fellow, Andrea Comfort Martinez, to speak at the event.  About 130 people attended the screening and about 100 CPCA postcards were signed.  Make12 partnerd with a local university and used the screening as a big outreach event.

If your church is interested in hosting a screening, contact churches@ijm.org.

@IJMHQ says goodbye to a true IJM HERO

Today marked the last day of @IJMHQ's Director of Police Training, Craig*. With an incredible background with the FBI, this man served faithfully for 5 years training police around the world to better care for the clients that IJM seeks to rescue. These police then would go on to train other police through IJM's International Police Training Program. Hundreds of law enforcement officials across the globe owe their expertise to Craig in how to better care for our clients once rescued from brothels, brick kilns, etc. Out of the 5 years that Craig was on staff, he spent 394 days training police overseas (That is more than a YEAR!). During his service, Craig spent three anniversaries and five Valentine's Day apart from his wife in order to do this work. Craig not only is an IJM hero to many of our clients, but he is a true hero in the hearts of IJMers across the globe. Today @IJMHQ said goodbye, but in doing so we celebrated his service to IJM and what a blessing he has been to so many of us here. This picture shows the STANDING OVATION he received at his goodbye party today. Craig, we love you!

IJM's Work in Latin America Highlighted @IJMHQ

Today IJM HQ hosted an IM legend, Jaime Farrant. Jaime began IJM 8 years ago as an intern and was later hired on as full-time staff. Jaime took the poineer role of starting IJM's office in Guatemala and later in Bolivia. Over the last several years, Jaime and his wife, Liz, have led IJM's efforts in Bolivia: Jaime as the Field Office Director and Liz directing Church Mobilization. They have recently relocated to the Phoenix area for Liz to attend graduate school. Today Jaime shared on how he steered IJM's work in Latin America highlighting what God has taught him throughout the years through the lives of his colleagues and those he served on the Field. Jaime spoke about seeing the power of God through the lives changed by IJM's work and many of IJM's clients coming to Christ through the act of Christians living out justice here on earth. Jaime says, "Our job is to point them to Christ." To learn more about IJM's inspiring work in Latin America, please visit: http://www.ijm.org/ourwork/latinamerica
